5 tips for travelling to Thailand

Me and my girlfriend made a trip to Thailand to celebrate me turning 30 years old. Thailand is such a big country with a lot of different places to visit so it was hard to choose where to go. After a hefty amount of research we decided to fly in and out from Bangkok and we could spend a few days there in the beginning and end of our trip. Then we travelled south to Koh Phangan, Koh Tao and ended up in Phuket. Each place we visited had a different vibe so we felt like we got to see quite a lot of the country! Both of us liked the most Koh Phangan and Koh Tao. They felt like paradise islands!

5 tips for Thailand

  • You’re not going to see all of Thailand in your first trip (unless you go for several months) so don’t get overwhelmed when planning.

  • There is something for everyone so take the extra time to research different areas of the country.

  • Don’t hesitate to travel to different ends of the country on the same trip. The transportation in Thailand works very well. We used domestic flights, ferries and buses. All of which were very easy to book and use.

  • Hire a private boat for a day on the water. If you are travelling alone you could try to gather small group together. You’ll experience will be much nicer than a fully loaded tourist boat.

  • Prices are usually negotiable but be respectful for the locals. The money that might be very little for you matters more to them.

Here is some impressions from the trip!
