Coastal Croatia
Croatia is a country that has gotten very famous recently partly because of Game of Thrones but also for its amazing coast, great food and beautiful scenery. Me and my girlfriend wanted to see a variety of things in Croatia so we planned our trip start in Dubrovnik and we drove a long the coast of the Adriatic sea to Split, then spend a few days on the island of Hvar.
Notes for myself for the next trip to Croatia
Spend more time in the islands. The islands and the ocean is the crown jewel of Croatia, and in my opinion the most beautiful part.
Go sailing. There are sailing boats available to rent (captain included) so get a bunch of friends are spend a week or two on the water sailing to different islands.
Dubrovnik and Split are very popular. Especially the old town in both cities are full of tourists. They are nice places to see, more so, if you are a Game of Thrones fan. But one day in each is enough.
Take your time driving the coastal road between Dubrovnik and Split. It took us a whole day, to complete what is a 4 hour drive. I would split the drive into two or 3 days and explore more the small coastal towns.
