10 days in Japan

For ten years Japan has been in the top of my list for countries to visit. Now the same guy who initially planted the idea of travelling to Japan invited me to join him in assisting a photoshoot for a client to the land of the rising sun. My friend Daniel and I were going to spend the next 10 days in Kyoto, Nara and Osaka shooting travel and tourism photos for his client. Here is what we got up to.

PERFECT COMBINATION

We flew to Osaka and took a train to start our trip from Japan’s cultural capital Kyoto. Kyoto is very nice smaller city compared to Osaka but it has a lot of beautiful temples and historical places. If you are planning a trip to Tokyo or Osaka I would also encourage you to visit Kyoto because it is such a different city from those two and you’ll add some variety to your trip.

Nara is close to both Kyoto and Osaka and multiple trains run from both cities every day. It is famous for the huge park that is home for a lot of deer and for example of the seven great temples in Nara Tōdai-ji temple. You could get lost in the park for many days so if you are going to Nara and enjoy outdoors, take in mind you might need several days.

Osaka is a cool bigger city with a vibrant buzz. I haven’t been to Tokyo so I don’t know how it compares but I liked Osaka. You have a variety of different areas and cool shops, restaurants and sights. We spent 4 days in Osaka and we barely scratched the surface so there is a lot of things to do.

This said our 10 day trip was awesome and I feel like we had a perfect combination of culture, nature and city. I can’t wait to go back and see more of Japan.
